What and Where

The week-long festival is taking over Los Angeles, California, at over 35 venues throughout the city. Iconic comedy clubs, like the Laugh Factory, with house comedy club stand-up sets and huge theatres, like the Hollywood Bowl, will be home to larger-scale performances.

Though the festival spanned two weeks last year, this one-week lineup is jam-packed with comedy action that is sure to leave you in stitches.

The Lineup

Jon Stewart, host of Comedy Central’s satirical news program The Daily Show, will be hosting Might of Too Many Stars, a benefit variety show at the Hollywood Bowl on May 7th.

Jerry Seinfeld, comedian and star of the hit sitcom Seinfeld, will be performing his act at the Greek Theatre on May 5th with special guest Leanne Morgan.

Katt Williams, known for early-2000s comedy movies Friday After Next and Norbit, is performing his stand-up set at the Intuit Dome.

Ali Wong, known for her raw and honest comedy, will have a set at the Hollywood Bowl.

Wanda Sykes will be making a stop at the Dolby Theatre for her Please & Thank You Tour.

Some other big names that you may recognize from SNL and online are Nikki Glaser, John Mulaney, Kevin Hart, Jimmy Kimmel, Jelly Roll, Shane Gillis, Marcello Hernandez, and more.

Can’t Miss Shows

The Night of Too Many Stars is going to feature, you guessed it, a ton of comedy stars. This variety show is also a benefit event. Perfect for the audience member who wants a little bit of everything. Proceeds will be going to autism programs nationwide.

A live podcast taping of Rushmore by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld will be taking place, where they will discuss their favorite sitcom episodes. Rushmore is a podcast hosted by Ari Emanuel and Ben Persky, both of whom have experience in Hollywood and the music industry. They frequently have high-profile guests on to debate relevant topics.

Flight of the Conchords Reunion at the Greek Theatre is delighting fans of the musical comedy group, who have not performed live together since 2018.

There will be a screening of The Naked Gun with director David Zucker, a Crazy Ex-Girlfriend reunion show, and a Pee-wee’s Playhouse 40th anniversary celebration.

Tips for Attendance

Venues span across Los Angeles, and many shows are happening simultaneously. Make sure to choose which shows you want to watch and plan your commute accordingly. If there are two sets back to back, make sure your drive won’t add 40 minutes.

Tickets vary! Don’t wait until the last minute to purchase. You don’t want to miss out!

Dress up! Going to a live performance isn’t like going to the movie theater. It’s common etiquette to dress up a little when attending one. If you can’t be bothered to drag out your Sunday best, at least iron your shirt.
