How to disable or delete an Instagram account
Instagram is a popular social media platform that allows users to share photos and videos with friends and followers. However, if you no longer want to use Instagram or need to delete your account for some reason, it’s important to know how to do so properly. In this article, we’ll show you how to disable or delete your Instagram account the right way so that you don’t lose any of your data or photos.
Open instagram.com and log into your Instagram account from a computer. (You can’t disable your Instagram account from mobile.)
Click on the three lines in the top left corner of the screen.
Select “settings” from the menu that pops up.
Under “account,” select “disable the account.” Instagram will ask you to confirm your decision. (You can also disable your account by clicking on the gear icon in the top right corner of your screen, selecting “settings,” and then unchecking the box next to “enable the account.”)
If you want to delete your account, select “delete account” from the same menu. Instagram will ask you to confirm your decision.
Click the profile picture in the upper right corner, then click ‘Settings.’
Under ‘Account Settings,’ uncheck the box next to ‘Enable Instagram.’
Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
To delete your account, go to \https://instagram.com/accounts/deactivate and enter your account details.
On the ‘Edit Profile screen, scroll down to the bottom and find ‘Temporarily disable my account.’
To disable your account:
1. Click on the ‘Temporarily disable my account button.
2. Enter your password and confirm it.
3. Your account will be disabled for 7 days. After the 7-day period is up, you will need to re-enable it by following these steps:
1. Log in to Instagram.
2. On the ‘Edit Profile screen, scroll down to the bottom and find ‘Enable my account.’
3. Enter your password and confirm it.
4. Your account will be enabled with no limitations for 7 days. After the 7-day period is up, you will need to re-enable it by following these steps:
1. Log in to Instagram.
2. On the ‘Edit Profile screen, scroll down to the bottom and find ‘Disable my account’ (or ‘Enable my account’ if you have already enabled it).
3. Enter your password and confirm it.

On the next screen, tap on ‘Account deletion’.
On the next screen, you will be asked to enter your password to disable or delete your account.
If you have forgotten your password, you can request a new one from Instagram by clicking on the ‘Forgot Password link.
Once you have entered your password and hit the ‘Disable my account button, it will take you to the confirmation page.
You will now see a message stating that your account has been disabled or deleted.
– If you want to permanently delete your account:
1. Log into your Instagram account.
2. Click on the three lines in the top left corner of the main screen.
3. On the left side of the screen, click on Account Settings.
4. Under ‘Your Account, click on Disable Account. Enter your password and click on Disable Account button.
5. A confirmation message will appear on the screen, please review and if you are satisfied with the disablement, click on OK to confirm disablement. Your account will now be temporarily disabled until you re-enable it.
1. If you no longer use Instagram and don’t want to keep it active:
Select a reason to delete your Instagram account and click the ‘Delete’ button. After confirming the deletion, your account will be gone!
2. If you have been banned from Instagram:
If you have been banned from Instagram, there is nothing that can be done to unban yourself. You will have to create a new Instagram account if you want to continue using the platform.
